Our old friend Steven Wells is back with more beauty at the Guardian. This time he takes on the most insufferable man in all of football commentary: No not Christian Miles, it's that heinous cretin Tommy Smyth. The man who is 1000 times more braindead & contradictory than I could ever be. And that is saying something. One of the comment-ers on the article left us with this note: "This means I'll need a new name for the Tommy Smyth button on my remote."
-And just so you know, I love Max Bretos. And I don't want to hear about it, cuz yer wrong. The man is a god damn genius!

In the New York Times George Vecsey, a lover of the beautiful game, tells us that President Barrack Obama has gotten on board the USA bid for the World Cup for '18 or '22. Vecsey also says he would love to see the Prez wearing a Claret & Blue scarf supporting West Ham. Wha? Fuck that weak shit. How about a nice Red Chicago Fire scarf, or a Black DC United scarf. Then we'd be talking.
